2006 Reserve Cabernet Franc
Price: $17.20
The 2006 Reserve Cabernet Franc is a super-premium red wine sourced from grapes grown on the renowned Wismer Vineyard in the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation. The grapes were harvested at an incredible 25.2˚ brix, a natural sugar level rarely achieved in Niagara. The grapes were ripened in a distinctly warm and dry vintage, resulting in low yields and lending loads of character and concentration to the finished wine. This Cabernet Franc is deep ruby to garnet in colour and offers an intricate bouquet of black cherry with hints of cedar and bell pepper. The palate is a mix of ripe, red berry fruit accented with smooth vanilla and spicy oak. With decanting this wine can be enjoyed now but ideally it is destined for long-term ageing. Pair with grilled beef, pork and venison, lamb chops and rich, pungent cheeses. Cellar for up to 8 years and beyond.
