2005 Proprietor’s Reserve Brut Sparkling Wine
Price: $19.20
The 2005 Proprietor’s Reserve is the first ever sparkling wine released by Stoney Ridge Estate Winery. The wine is made from 60% young-vine Chardonnay grapes from our Kew Vineyard and 40% young-vine Pinot Noir grapes from our Cuesta Vineyard, and is vinified in the classic Méthode Traditionnelle. The grapes were hand picked and whole-cluster pressed; the maturity index at the moment of pressing was 18. Secondary fermentation was finished in the bottle followed by 12 months of ageing on the lees. The wine has fresh fruit aromas and toasty notes followed by a vibrantly clean acidity and creamy texture on the palate, surrounded by tightly spiraling, continuous bubbles. Pairs well with salmon, lobster, mussels and other seafood, as well as aromatic fruits and light cheeses.
