The igluu series of Late Harvest wines is a unique Stoney Ridge product.  The grapes were harvested during the night in mid-December, 1999 from the Kew Vineyard on the Beamsville Bench.  The wine was fermented at about 5˚ C in stainless steel for 24 days and aged in stainless steel.  It is a delicious dessert wine with medium viscosity and aromas and flavours of peach, mango, apricot and honey.  The palate is full and sweet, but balanced with well structured acidity.  Pair with desserts that are not as sweet as the wine, like fruit-topped crêpes, vanilla ice cream, creamy cheeses, or fruit flan.  The wine’s acid level keeps the sweetness in check, making this something you could sip by itself at the end of a meal.
