The 2018 vintage was a wild ride for Niagara, the growing season got off to a cold and soggy start in the spring. This was followed by a summer that saw extreme heat in June and July with heavy rain and thunderstorms in the later months. Fortunately, the crucial fall ripening season was kind fo the vines, bringing warm, dry days and cool nights. This allowed growers to get good ripeness levels and harvest before the rains returned at the end of October.
A beautiful rose water hue and dense aromas of fruit blossom, strawberries, fresh peach, red apple and a dollop of honey. The palate is light to medium bodied with a soft, creamy texture and delicate citrus acidity. Ripe, plus flavours of Macintosh apple, pear, wildflower honey and lemon citrus on the finish. Pair with lighter fair such as antipasto platters, soft cheeses, pan fried whitefish or white pizza.
